This month, we celebrate Thanksgiving, a beautiful opportunity to express
the gratitude we feel for the many blessings in our lives. And as we
cultivate a daily attitude of gratitude, we attract more into our lives
to be grateful for.
We can expand our attitude of gratitude by reflecting often on everything
we're thankful for: our breath; a bed to sleep in and enough food to eat;
our relationships which help us learn and grow; the kindness of others;
the awesome beauty of nature; and so much more. We can also grow our
gratitude by frequently expressing our genuine appreciation to others
throughout the day.
I feel very grateful for the inspirational wisdom and guidance I find in
the writings of philosophers and sages of all times. These quotes lift me
up when I'm in need of a spiritual boost. At Thanksgiving time, I enjoy making place cards for
our Thanksgiving table, each with its own special message.
I share some of my favorites with you here. I am so grateful for your
presence in my life. Thank you for your loving support as I continue to
learn and grow. Please picture yourself around my Thanksgiving table and
receive this offering of loving gratitude!
Be grateful for the feeling of gratitude. Wake up in gratitude, go
through your day in gratitude and give thanks as you go to sleep. Be
grateful that no matter what the circumstances, conditions or effects of
your life are, the opportunities to learn and grow are always present. A
prayer of gratitude is the highest prayer of all. --Hope Elliot
We look into our hearts to find that gratitude within; gratitude for our
breath, for our pulse, for being here, in this very moment. --Rabbi
Jonathan Omerman
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into
enough, and more. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a
stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace
for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. - -Melody Beattie
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming
gardeners who make our souls blossom. --Marcel Proust
I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street, I met a man
who had no feet. --Denis Waitely
If you can't be thankful for what you receive, be thankful for what you
escape. --Unknown
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at
least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we
didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us
all be thankful. -- Buddha
A thankful person is thankful under all circumstances. A complaining soul
complains even if he lives in paradise. --Baha'u'llah
Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted--a paved
road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in
every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled
with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul. --Rabbi Harold Kushner
Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone. --Gladys Berthe Stern
Gratitude is heaven itself. --William Blake
There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy. --Ralph H.

If the only prayer you say in your whole life is "thank
you", that would be enough. --Meister Eckhart
Many blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!
